Team description

The Riverside U14 team was formed this year, though several players have been playing together under Coach Filipe for over 9 years at a different club. The team’s philosophy emphasizes humility, building gentlemen, and working as a unified group to achieve their goals, rather than adopting a win-at-all-costs attitude. Despite being newly formed, the team has achieved remarkable success. They won the U15 division at the annual Greater Durban Football Association tournament and finished top of their group in the GDLFA league. Many players come from underprivileged backgrounds, and the team fosters a strong culture of support, growth, and opportunity. This drive creates a hunger to succeed and prove themselves on the field. The team’s success is built on collective effort and adaptability, though two players have been recognized individually and selected to attend trials with Glasgow Rangers in Scotland in 2025. Riverside U14 strives to play intelligent football while remaining flexible to their opponents and environment. Above all, they focus on creating opportunities, developing skills, and enjoying the beautiful game.
