Team description
The JVW Program for Football Development was founded in 2012 by Janine Van Wyk, FORMER captain of the South African senior women's national team, along with her business partner and current Banyana Banyana manager, Lauren Duncan. Their aim was to create a platform of limitless opportunities for girls to play football. THE JVW football club is renowned for its professionalism both on and off the field. The club has successfully unearthed numerous talented football players from South Africa who have gone on to represent their country on the world stage, from the U17 youth levels to the FIFA Women's World Cup. The football club has made impressive strides in creating a well-defined player pathway that offers opportunities for players to progress from development football to professional football status, and other opprtunities in both the football and sports fraternity. The club boasts an impressive array of teams, including U14 and U16 GDL teams (Gauteng development league), a regional team (Regional League), Sasol team (Provincial team), and The Blue Diamonds. The Blue Diamonds compete in the esteemed NATIONAL Hollywoodbets Super League and others in safa leagues. THE FOOTBALL CLUB HAS In addition to their existing teams, introduced U7 and U10 teams, providing younger players with a chance to join the program, have active role models, be developed the JVW way, and gain valuable experience during the crucial stages of their development. The JVW Football Club COINED the nickname "The Blue Diamonds" during their debut season in the Hollywoodbets Super League, after winning the 2019 Sasol National Championship. The Blue Diamonds successfully secured a place among the top four teams of the league and accomplished their goal of finishing in third place in 2023, behind UWC Sport and Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies, who were the league winners. As the league GEARS toward professionalization, The Blue Diamonds are focused on improving their league standings and strengthening their club development structures.Group A
